We believe that the church should be a family, really. So, we give everyone the opportunity to get together with a smaller group in a home during the week. We eat, study the Bible, and pray together. We want to go beyond a "Sunday only" relationship, and one of the best places for this to happen is in a home, around the dinner table.

Even though we've lived in Cleveland Heights for the past five years, we were usually so busy that we couldn't spend much time with the people in our own city. About a year ago God started to put a feeling in us to help bring the gospel to the residents of Cleveland Heights-our neighbors. Now God has opened the way for us to spend a lot of time with the people who have lived near us for many years. It's been a year of answered prayers, hard work, and meeting wonderful new people whose lives are beginning to be touched by Jesus Christ. A special part of our church life is getting together on Tuesday nights at our house with the Kims and others to eat, talk, and study the Bible. We've grown to know each other, help each other, pray for each other, and encourage each other to trust in Christ for many different things in our lives. We feel like a big family in the Lord.

We have a little history in Cleveland Heights having lived here for one year in 1999. In the summer of 2005, the Lord began stirring again in us to move back to Cleveland Heights and preach the gospel and have our church life there. In the summer of 2005, prior to moving to Cleveland Heights, Scott commuted from Lorain Ohio and began going door to door with others, meeting people who were open and desiring to further their relationship with the Lord Jesus. Then in September of 2005, our family moved so we could begin to have a practical church life with the people we had met. This has been a real joy to us! The people and the setting in Cleveland Heights have really caused us to appreciate and reconsider afresh what it is to be a Christian in the church. We have many gatherings in our home during the week, usually over the dinner table. We believe that the Lord Jesus is too good to only worship Him on Sundays. We like Him to be part of our daily life in our home too. Our Thursday night gathering began in the summer of 2005 and is still growing in satisfaction and in numbers. We enjoy each other's company, sing songs to the Lord, pray for each other, and read the Bible. We really feel our lives have entered into another plane since coming to this city to enjoy the family church life with those who are seeking the Lord Jesus.

We have been living in Cleveland all of our lives. The Lord saved my wife and I in two different ways but through our experiences walking with the Lord Jesus, He has become very real to both of us in similar ways. Our desire is to serve God on this earth by presenting the facts about Jesus and the authenticity of his existence and his accomplishments for mankind. In August of 2005, the opportunity presented itself for us to be involved in starting a church in Cleveland heights, we felt peace in going because we felt that it would be a good chance for us to put our gifts to use. This experience has been just that: “a great opportunity.” The Lord has proven Himself faithful in our lives and we look forward to seeing the fruit of our labor grow and be established.
